Seeing Through the Soul’s Lens: A Spiritual Reflection on Perspective

Seeing Through the Soul’s Lens: A Spiritual Reflection on Perspective

When I tune in and ask Spirit what word might bring some encouragement this month, one keeps returning to me—
Perspective.

It’s something I’ve been sitting with lately, in both subtle and surprising ways. One recent example came from an unexpected source: a television show.

I’ve been watching a newer series called Doc, and while I might have been procrastinating a little (I’m human too!), I found it deeply engaging for reasons that go beyond entertainment.

The show follows a woman who experiences a traumatic brain injury and has to reorient her entire life. What struck me most is how her accident becomes the doorway to profound personal growth. As she heals, she begins to show up with more kindness, more vulnerability, and more love—despite having once been seen as a difficult boss and colleague.

It made me pause and wonder:
How often do we resist seeing someone’s potential because of the role we’ve cast them in?
How often do we forget to see people from the perspective of the soul?

We all carry stories. We all carry wounds.
But we also all carry the divine spark—the soul beneath the personality, beneath the patterns.

And when we begin to view others through that lens—noticing what lessons they might be offering us, or what they might be carrying silently—we begin to soften. We begin to shift.

That’s what perspective can offer. Not spiritual bypassing. Not ignoring harmful behavior. But a gentle lens that says:

“There may be more going on here. And I don’t have to carry resentment to move forward.”

This is your reminder—because it’s also mine:
Try to see the soul within.
Meet people without assuming who they are.
Reflect on what their presence might be teaching you.
Gather the gift, and release the heaviness.

Even when it’s hard, it’s still possible.

With love,
